The firefighter was battling a small fire at a recycling facility in the 2740 block of Wilmarco Avenue when the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24, the reports state.

The extent of the firefighter's injuries is currently unknown on Wednesday afternoon.
